Introducción



    El libro de Luis A. Martínez “A la costa”, es un título que se lo define a causa de que existen dos escenarios regionalistas en el trama como es, la primera parte en la sierra y la última en la costa, donde Salvador Ramírez vivirá su peor pesadilla al cambiar su estilo de vida por mejores oportunidades, a causa de su lucha por la tendencia conservadora será humillado públicamente cuando el liberalismo gané y deba hacerlo por conservar su vida, muchos elementos se destacan a lo largo de la historia como la doble moral de Rosaura la cual cree ser una santa pero es una meretriz, la cual le gusta juzgar a todo aquel que no le caiga bien, en esta novela somos los espectadores de un mundo lleno de secretos, pero también un mundo en la que esta obra se centra en determinar el comportamiento humano, donde por más buen pensamiento que se pueda tener, un desliz logra ver el cumplimiento de las más bajas pasiones, Ya que Mariana la hermana de Salvador pecara contra el paradigma de la época al consumar su amor con Luciano, además de aspectos escalofriantes ocurrirán donde representantes de la iglesia harán de las suyas aprovechándose de la situación de las más débiles o desamparadas.
    Luis A. Martínez hace énfasis a una parte tan simple que siempre está presente por naturaleza en nuestra vida “El miedo, la desdicha, el desamor, la traición y el egoísmo”, los estereotipos de la superioridad de una persona sobre otra, por lo cual esta novela refleja una parte cultural, tan conocida hasta nuestros días, donde el factor económico puede más, y el amor por el poder crece, más que el amor hacia el bien común por la sociedad completa y no por particulares.
La literatura ecuatoriana gracias a la gran riqueza cultural e histórica ha abierto una gran  diversidad de elección literaria, sea tremendista, vanguardista, romancista, de aventura o ficción entre otros géneros literarios más, ha tenido calidad propia y es lo que esta obra; “A la costa”, lo demuestra aunque para todos hay diversos gustos, pero porque no hablar de la dimensión realista que ha ayudado a desarrollar costumbres e inmensidad de cuentos, novelas e historias, combinando la ficción y aventura con la realidad, en esta historia van de la mano, ya que la aventura puede llevar a que lo que pase sea una fuerte incertidumbre, la realidad colabora en que se pueda desarrollar mejor nuestra imaginación y cambiar el tradicionalismo.

Martínez, se ha empeñado en representar esta obra con toques bastante duros e intensos, que llenan de incertidumbre, que inspiran a la reflexión y aún más la imaginación cómo un arma de que todo es posible, sí sólo deseas pensarlo, aventuras, peleas, por qué no todo cuento o novela puede ser siempre de finales felices, simplemente de finales que conlleven a cada lector, a una crítica que fortalezca su poder de decisión, y el incremento de seguir leyendo y analizando, en conclusión, que el lector se sienta a gusto, que la intriga lo acompañe y sea capaz de seguir imaginando con locura y rasgos realistas a la vez.
